Former Major League infielder Joe Randa returned to Kettle Moraine High School on Dec. 20 to host his second-annual winter skills camp for the Kettle Moraine Junior Lasers and the high school program.
After helping Kettle Moraine to the 1988 WIAA state championship, Randa spent 12 seasons in the Major Leagues playing for the Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres. Randa finished with 1,543 career hits and a .284 career batting average in 1,522 big-league games.
Randa was joined by former Major League pitcher and current Kansas City Royals bullpen coach Doug Henry and Dean Freeland, the first Kettle Moraine product to play professional baseball.
